Mark Keenan
In addition to serving as President of the INTOSAI Journal, Mark is an Assistant Director for International Relations at the U.S. Government Accountability Office. In that role, Mark leads three areas within GAO’s International Relations Portfolio—GAO’s International Auditor Fellowship Program, GAO’s role in the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation, and GAO’s International Visitors Program. Mark joined GAO in 2003 and worked as a Senior Analyst in the Natural Resources and Environment mission team for most of that time on issues ranging from Native American repatriation to federal land acquisitions to nuclear waste cleanup. He also served as an advisor for GAO’s Professional Development Program for two years, assisting over 30 new staff as they onboarded and began their GAO careers.
Mark grew up in Chicago, Illinois and holds a M.S. in Public Policy from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Political Science and Economics from the University of Illinois.
